These too are a welcome addition to our cutlery set...
Finally, my annual favorite!

Good knives are a great asset in a kitchen, but isn't there some superstition about giving/getting knives as presents?
Have to go google ciopinno now, never heard of it but it looks good!
happy 2011!
No superstitions here, as luckily enough you left a single coin taped to a paper given to use....and in some cultures giving a knife as a gift is considered a sign of respect and trust. This is especially true in Finland.
Glad we got that covered ;)
Erin - I had no idea about the meaning of knife gift giving! I just thought you all were tired of my Ginsu's!!
Mimi - You would LOVE Cioppino!!!
What a nice useful gift. Hopefully there are no accidents as you get used to having sharp knives. I've never had cioppino but it looks yummy.
That was a wonderful gift!!! I need me a new knife set. Let me know how much you love these! I still think that meal looks so delicious. Do you have a recipe you could pass on??
A great gift idea! I love a sharp knife, like I love Polish Pottery and unique glassware! :o) (I had to laugh at your comment Leslee about your family being tired of your Ginsu's! haha) That Cioppino looks amazing! Especially yummy on a cold winter day (I get cold even here in southern Georgia!
Blessings & Aloha!
Yay for a little blog reading time :o) Stopping by to say hello! Your daughter's name was drawn for one of the art giveaways :o) Thanks for letting her know about it.
I think it's so important to have a good set of knives. It makes all the difference in the world.
That dish looks great! Is it crab?
